With nearly 50 years of hands-on experience, Peter Biggs is a deeply respected horseman and educator whose life has been shaped by a passion for understanding and working with the horse — not against it.

Peter’s horsemanship journey began at Longreach Pastoral College, where he studied under renowned horseman Ken May. He went on to become Senior Horse Instructor at Burdekin Agricultural College, where his desire to follow in the footsteps of legendary horseman Ray Hunt truly took place.

Known for his calm presence and intuitive understanding of horse behaviour, Peter has helped countless riders and owners develop a more connected, confident and responsive relationship with their horse. His approach blends deep knowledge with patience, respect, and a focus on true partnership.

As Co-Founder of Just Equus, Peter is committed to sharing his lifetime of experience to help others achieve extraordinary things — both in the saddle and within themselves.

Eva Biggs - Founder & Manager

Eva is the driving force behind the vision and growth of Just Equus. With a strong passion for business and a deep love for horses, Eva is committed to making a positive impact in the equine education space by creating a platform where horse enthusiasts can achieve extraordinary results with their horses.

As Co-Founder and Manager, Eva plays a vital role in overseeing the operations of Just Equus, while also providing leadership and support to the team. Her focus is on ensuring the brand delivers meaningful, high-quality experiences — from horse clinics and training programs to retreats.

Eva is also the strategic mind behind the brand’s expansion, consistently exploring new ways to grow Just Equus both online and internationally, with exciting plans to take the program beyond Australia. Her dedication, innovation and belief in the power of connection, between horses and humans make her an essential part of what makes Just Equus unique.

Wade Biggs grew up immersed in the world of horses, inspired by his dad, Peter Biggs, whose dedication to horsemanship and helping riders build true partnerships left a lasting impact. That same passion has sparked Wade’s own journey to become a skilled horseman in his own right.

As an Assistant Manager at Just Equus, Wade plays a growing role in both the horsemanship and business sides of the operation. Under the guidance of his mum, Eva Biggs, he is learning the ins and outs of business management; embracing the challenges, developing new skills and contributing to the ongoing success of the brand.

With a foot in both worlds, Wade brings youthful energy, curiosity, and a strong sense of purpose to the Just Equus team. Whether he’s working alongside his parents in clinics or behind the scenes in business operations, Wade is proud to be part of shaping the future of Just Equus. He is excited to be given the opportunity.

Meika Elliot - Educator & Retreat Facilitator

Meika is an experienced equestrian professional with a strong foundation in horse management and care. With years of hands-on experience, she previously managed one of South East Queensland prominent thoroughbred studs, contributing to the successful production and preparation of over 50 yearlings each year.

Her depth of knowledge, paired with her calm, grounded approach, makes her a valued leader within the Just Equus team.

Driven by a genuine passion for horses, Meika now shares her knowledge through the Just Equus YouTube Channel — offering horsemanship tips, insights, and practical advice for horse owners of all experience levels and disciplines. Her mission is to make quality horse education accessible, relatable and real.

Clare Furneaux - Horse Trainer

Clare’s equine journey began at the age of 16 and quickly blossomed into a lifelong passion. She gained foundational hands-on experience at Weelsby Park, a prestigious riding school in the UK.

Her career has since taken her across the UK and Europe, where she worked in a variety of disciplines including Eventing, Show Jumping, Dressage and Reining — gaining a broad and practical understanding of horse training across many styles and systems.

In 2019, Clare relocated to Queensland to manage a boutique breeding stud within the racing industry, where she further refined her skills in horse care, management and training.

Now part of the Just Equus team, Clare works alongside Peter Biggs to help train, educate horses and support riders with their journey. Clare brings a grounded, professional approach that perfectly complements the Just Equus Horsemanship philosophy.

Spice is one of our very own homebred horses at Just Equus, and she’s already proving to be something special. The daughter of Cattlou (currently residing at the iconic 6666 Ranch in Texas) and our much-loved mare Chilli Biggs, Spice carries the best of both worlds; heart, heritage, and a whole lot of feel.

She’s grounded, sensitive, and shows a natural softness that makes working with her a true pleasure. Spice brings a thoughtful energy to every session and is already showing signs of being a highly intuitive and teachable horse, with a spark that reflects both her parents’ strengths.

Still early in her journey, Spice is one to watch and we’re excited to see the horse she’s becoming. With strong genetics, a steady mind, and plenty of curiosity, she’s a beautiful reflection of the future we are building at Just Equus.

Accessing our Property

Address: 632 Brennan Road Allenview QLD, Google MAP

From Brooklands road turn into Saville Road. Drive along Saville Road, cross the railway line. Continue. until you come to Brennan Road and turn lefts. Drive along Brennan Road, crossing 4 cattle grids. After the fourth grid you will come to the end of Brenna Road and our property is located on the right right, you will see a mailbox with number “632” and our Just Equus sign. Follow this road, and go past dilapidated set of cattle yards on the left then over a dam wall. Continue up the hill, once up the hill you will see a blue shed on the right horse and arena on the left. Please have your vehicle in 4WD. Park near the blue shed (bottom of arena).

The Past

Peter’s love of horses started early. As a young boy he was enthralled by horses; how they moved, thought and interacted with each other. Like many, he dreamed of getting inside their heads. Unlike many, he followed his dreams and dedicated his entire life to working with and learning about horses. Now, he is dedicated to improving the relationship between horse and rider.

The Present

Peter is passionate about horses and the relationship between horse and rider. Through Just Equus, he helps people learn how to communicate with their horse and establish (or re-establish) a connection based on understanding and trust.

Peter teaches and demonstrates to people how to achieve extraordinary results with their horse. His clinics and Boot Camp program apply to all styles of riding.

Just Equus aims to provide eye opening approaches and answers. Building a connection on feel, timing and balance. Creating an environment where you work with the horse, rather than against it. You want your bodies to become one. This is our goal.

The Future

To continue to grow Just Equus. To evolve and facilitate the need for passionate horse lovers, who want to improve their relationship and understanding of their horse/s. To help people who have lost their confidence and want to get back to riding, to those who want to strengthen their relationship with their horse, and to pass it on to the next generation.

We want people to stay in touch with us, no matter where they live and be part of our horse journey. Let’s share our learnings together and help one another excel with our horses, no matter what discipline or age.
